Where: Columbia Lakefront, In Front of the Water fountain
Introduction to the Perfect Circle: Hula-Hooping has been around since the dawn of main. At it’s purest form it’s a simple shape & it’s fun! We give hoops to children because they are an innocent way to have fun & begin to understand the natural movement of our individual bodies. And the reality is: Everyone can do it!!
General Questions asked about Hula-Hooping:
1) What should I wear? The least amount of clothing worn, the easier it is to hoop. This is because the hoop itself has less obstacles to get tangled on which makes it drop. Also, it is better to wear more form fitting clothes, because of the same philosophy.
2) Where can I buy a hoop? The easiest source is to go to a toy store, Toys R Us etc. There are also various venders around the area, but that may be more time consuming. Some hoops will be provided at the Pow-Wow, but dependent on supply & demand, they may run out.
3) What size hoop should I use? As a beginner it may be best to use a heavier, larger circumference hoop to get your body used to the motion. As you get better, the hoop may get smaller & lighter; however, since every body is different, it completely depends on what feels best to you.
